The Facilities and Maintenance & Operations Departments support education by:
- Providing general maintenance and landscaping of district property, including air conditioning, heating, electrical and alarm systems
- Ensuring the health and safety of all district campuses
- Anticipating student enrollment trends and providing student housing in a timely manner
- Locating and sizing new school sites in compliance with our District Facilities Master Plan
- Working with housing developments to ensure proper fee mitigation
- Ensuring compliance with state environmental and safety regulations
- Obtaining all available funding for constructing new and updating current facilities
- Managing construction of additions to and the modernization of existing schools and the building of new schools, as approved by the Western Placer Unified School District Board of Trustees.
Our commitment is to serve the school community and ensure that all campuses and properties are maintained and cleaned to the highest standard, as well as providing adequate new student facilities that meet or exceed our California State requirements.

Current School Construction Projects
During the 2010-2011 summer months, the following projects were completed:
- Glen Edwards Middle School: Restoration of Wing B after fire damage, along with required compliance upgrades per American with Disabilities Act
- Lincoln High School: Re-roofing of Old Gym, Remodeling of Ag Shop into our Project Lead the Way iDesign Lab
- Phoenix High School: Replacement of two classrooms, general improvements to center of campus

The Maintenance Department only accepts work orders submitted online.
Beginning this school year, each site will have "on-site" work order request forms. Teachers and staff are encouraged to complete one of these forms and put it in the on site work order box. These will be located either in the teachers work room, break room or the staff mailbox area.
The maintenance custodian at each site will prioritize and complete what they can and forward any other requests to the maintenance department for completion.
Please do not call maintenance or grounds workers for any repairs. All requests must be directed through the work order system or through the Director of maintenance.

Grounds mowing schedule, 2011-2012

The grounds crew is following the schedule listed below. If you suspect leaks in your irrigation system, please let the maintenance and grounds department know immediately.
